Attention all bakers! Have you ever prepared a recipe that calls for softened butter, but forgot to take it out of the fridge?
Real, tasty, delicious butter is kept in the fridge, and yes, it is firm. Depending on the outside temperature, I usually take it out of the fridge about 2 hours before it’s required and let it soften at room temperature. If you’ve run out of time, you can speed this up by cutting into cubes, but if you’re REALLY pushed for time, you can use this nifty trick (and release some frustrations while you’re at it).
